The 2018 White Turf meeting started on Sunday under optimal weather conditions on the frozen lake of St. Moritz. About 8,000 spectators came to watch this exciting sport event and witness the victory of Nimrod from the stable of Miroslav Weiss in the main race. Valeria Holinger and her mount Usbekia leapt over the first hurdle, on her way to becoming the Queen of the Engadine. After eleven years, the Schneider family again won a trotting race in St. Moritz. “We are grateful to nature and the numerous volunteers in our team, who have worked towards this event for a whole year. The atmosphere on the track was fabulous. We are just happy and hope that things will continue this way on the two coming race days”, commented Thomas C. Walther, President of White Turf. This year the stakes totalled 53,670 Swiss francs, compared to 40,250 Swiss francs last year.
