How the 2014 gübelin grand prix of St. Moritz was run

Five year old Future Security from the stable of Christian von der Recke won in the most magnificent winter weather before 14,000 spectators the Gübelin 75th Grand Prix of St. Moritz with prize money of 150,150 Swiss francs. In a field that consisted finally only of ten horses, the gelding under Alexander Pietsch relegated the snow specialist Winterwind (Filip Minarik) into second place, six lengths in front of African Art (Daniele Porcu) in third place. Whilst the placed horses had already won the Engadine Grand Prix back in 2011 and 2012, it was the first time for Future Security on this surface Jockey Alexander Pietsch: ‘My horse ran really well and I only had to pay attention so that we would reach the finishing line safely’. Marion Bell-Andersson, the owner of Future Security, is a neighbour of Christian von der Recke in his training quarters in the locality of Weilerswist in the Eifel region.
